LCPB Leagues By-Law Modifications

Since the league has adopted the Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR) as its official player rating system. Divisional placement will be based on each team’s cumulative DUPR once players reach a 50% reliability threshold (reduced from 60%).

Updated by-laws reflect this change, along with revisions to the 4.0 division.

Captains now have increased flexibility in assigning Order of Strength (OoS) based on players’ DUPR ratings.  Discretion may be used for players below 50% reliability; once reached, OoS must follow league guidelines.

Until the 50% threshold is met, divisions will be based on prior season results, provided at least 70% of the roster returns.

Players whose ratings exceed their division may continue to play below level until they reach 50% reliability.  If both rating and reliability exceed the division during the season, they may remain on the team but will be restricted to Court 1.

These updates are designed to streamline placement while maintaining fair and consistent roster management.

Captains are expected to adhere to the Captain’s Code of Conduct when assigning OoS and ensure players are appropriately rostered prior to reaching the 50% reliability threshold.

2026 Summer Hellraiser’s Captains Interest

We’re excited to announce the return of the ever-popular Summer Hellraiser’s Series!  Currently, we are seeking team Captains only.

The Hellraiser’s Series follows the MLP DreamBreaker format, featuring 5 games played on one court.  Matches are played to 15, “sudden victory” by 1.  Matches will be played twice a week, either Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturday’s or Sunday’s.

 Each Match format is as follows;

  • Women’s Doubles
  • Men’s Doubles
  • Two Mixed Doubles

If teams are tied after the 4 games, a “Skinny Singles” tiebreaker will be played with players rotating every four points accumulated by a team.

The series will run throughout the month of June only, with teams consisting of 10 – 12 players, evenly split between Men and Women.  The registration fee is $20.00 per person.  Once we have secured captain’s we will recruit players, based upon the Players Interest submissions, to conduct a player draft to form teams.

How many matches per week and season will we play?

Does the league use a player rating system?

Yes, the league recognizes the DUPR Player Rating System, DUPR uses individual player ratings to calculate a team rating—the average of each player’s DUPR. This is then used to determine the win probability for each team.
Underdog Wins/Big Gains. If your team wins against the odds, your rating increases more.
Expected Wins/Steady Growth. Winning as the favorite means smaller gains.
Each player’s rating adjustment depends on the number of matches they’ve played and how recent those matches are. Play regularly to keep your rating dynamic and reflective of your current skill!

What if I don’t have a rating, how do I know what level I should play?

Each team’s captain shall set their respective players in accordance with their DUPR Player Rating.  If a player’s DUPR rating is NR (Not Rated), they will “Self-Rate” on their Profile on Pickleball.com to the division in which they are participating.  After approximately 16 – 20 league games entered on DUPR via match scores entered in Pickleball.com, players will develop a DUPR Player Rating of 60% reliable.  For further clarification please contact DUPR Support or the league’s Commissioner, Brian Fenlon at lcpbleague@gmail.com.
